About
The department of Computer Engineering at Govt. Polytechnic Hamirpur was set up in 2000 with the aim of imparting quality computer education to students and bring out the best in them. The key goal of the department is to provide best IT infrastructure, world class learning and adopt industry practices through industry institute interaction and inculcate moral and ethical values. The department was established to meet the demand for well-qualified computer professionals by providing a coducive environment for imparting high quality technical education and skill development. The eagerness of the students to learn makes it easier for the industry-trained experienced faculty to produce top-notch engineers who are being recruited by reputed companies all over the world.

Message from HOD
It is a pleasure to lead the department of Computer Engineering at Govt. Polytechnic Hamirpur. The primary focus of the department is to empower our students with overall development. The department has a team of highly experienced and motivated faculty members. All the Faculty members are well qualified and competitive enough in preparing students for global competition. Students are facilitated with Personality Development Program, Communication Classes for better placements. Competitive exams, quizzes and other co curricular activities are part of schedule. Sports, Co-curricular activities takes place at Institute level and students participate in various Intra-Polytechnic, Inter-Polytechnic events. We, as a Team – Computer Engineering are working with the following objectives:
- To nurture the students with multi-dimensional skill sets.
- The faculty members are encouraged to participate in Faculty Development Program and workshops.
- Department works for overall growth of students and inculcate the qualities that are acceptable by Society. Faculty as well as students take initiative for Social causes at individual level and as a team under different clubs of the Institute. Turning a student in to a good citizen is the prime aim of Computer department.
